Dr. Zaki Ibrahim specializes in the most complex spine surgical cases, including deformity and osteotomy, and is a leading surgeon in the south Denver area in minimally invasive spine surgery and motion preserving surgery (disc replacement). He has developed and patented several new surgical technologies, and is currently working with two spinal instrumentation manufacturers to develop and evaluate their systems for minimally invasive and trauma surgery.
Education
Dr. Ibrahim graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota, in 1985 with a B.A. in biology and chemistry, and earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine in Minneapolis in 1991. In 1992, he completed a general surgery internship followed by an orthopedic surgery residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, in 1996. He then completed a fellowship in spinal surgery at the University of California, San Diego.
Prior to establishing South Denver Spine in 2007, Dr. Ibrahim was in practice at Colorado Comprehensive Spine Institute in Englewood, and the Northland Orthopedic Group in St. Louis, Missouri. He a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and board certified in orthopedic and spine surgery.

Dr. Ibrahim is married to Jill Ibrahim, M.D., and they have two children. In his spare time, he enjoys triathlons, running, biking, windsurfing, scuba diving, skiing, and playing ice hockey. |
